Producer – The different types of producer but the main one in music will oversee and manage the sound production which may go from being one song to being a concept album and there jobs can variey from recording to co writing

Roles in the studio – Starting by introducing the roles of all of the personnel that work on studio related projects such as Musician and Sound Engineers. You should explaintheir role in the studio and how they interact with the producer

Session Musicians – that session musician is a musician a that will work with an artist if the need them to be called in. They most often are string and orchestra. they may come in to play one song or even go on tour with the artist.

Runner– A runner is often on work experience or a student that must have good people skills they will make sure the artist is ok and will often make coffee and tea for the people in the studio but if the studio engineer is off they might be called for to step in for them

Studio Manager– a studio manager will oversee everything and often owns the studio he won’t have an musical input but will make sure the studio is safe for the artists to perform and all the equipment is working.

Mastering engineers– mastering engineers is the last step for producing music and first for distributing music and they use digital and analog tools to adjust the sound.

Pre Production-

There are 3 types of production pre production, production and post production. And pre production is the production on a demo or a musical idea. pre production ends when the main production starts.

Production

another type of production is the main production performed by a music producer which can mean many things because of the introduction of logic and looping but most of all production is the making of a song and the producer will help the artist to do that

Post Production

audio post production is another stage of production and includes mixing which is the most important job in post production this includes the editing of tracks and mixing the volume so the song sounds adequate.

Papadopoulos (-2008)-one main ail for the producer is to release the full potential of the musical artist, a music producer must show confidence, leadership and musical talent these are the most important traits for a music producer

a good music producer will give the artist constructive criticism and also will give there own musical ideas to benefit the artists sound

a music producer is the equivalent of a film director in film they often will not write the songs but they will control the sound and tone of the song and they will often have lots of musical input towards the final sound of the piece

Problems facing producer –

There are many problems facing upcoming and current producer the main one is that people,e can just record the tracks and edit them all at home to a very high quality a quality that is very close the the level of the studio which will eventually leave producers out of business

safety in studio

working in a studio does carry many health and safety risks there is and order which the studio when turning on you have to turn every thing kn from the wall then once all on you load up pro tools once in protools you have to open the tracks for every microphone once thats done that you turn on the monitoring and start to record.

Reverb- reverberation is an effect of the reflection of sound waves of anything from bouncing off walls in a room or a hall each different verity gives a different sound giving more or less vibrations it can be used either digitally using some sort of software or manually

 

delay- delay may be the most commonly used effect as it gives an echo effect on whatever sound you would like, choosing the correct delay times is really important if you get it wrong it will give you a completely different sound than you would want. The most commonly known type of delay id analog and tape delay these were the first types of delay and really helped 60s rock be born with there guitar tone

Happiness is a warm gun

the song starts very gentle with a mix of john lennons vocals, his guitar and piano only to start with. at 00:12 you can distinctively hear ringo on drums and Paul mccartney come in on bass and George Harrison kicks in with his distorted guitar at 00:14 and verse 1 continues till 00:45 for a small guitar solo verse 2 starts 00:58 however it is completely different. with john on vocals and George joining him in guitar with Paul still on bass at 1:13 the bridge starts. at 1:35 the only chorus starts with john pennons vocals. then at 2:35 all instruments stop and fade to finish.

Turn up the sun 

turn up the sun starts with noel gallagher picking through the chord progression with support from gem archer and andy bell on guitar also they include piano into the song at 00:37 noel Gallagher stops picking through the chords and starts strumming this gives a louder and more up beat effect. Liam Gallagher starts singing at 00:53 where he starts to sing the verse 1 the chorus starts at 1:25 at 1:43 the verse 2 starts then the last chorus starts at 2:13 the vocals end at 2:45 with the last line “love one another” then noel starts picking his chord progression intill the end of the song

 

 

Cornerstone

cornerstone by the arctic monkeys starts with a very basic short guitar solo that only lasts 3 seconds when straight after goes into the guitar and bass and drum kick in at 00:09 the vocals start from Alex turner at 00:29 the first verse ended for the second verse to start at 00:34 at 1:00 the first chorus starts which consists of alert turners vocals bass and drum the verse 3 starts at 1:20 with a second guitar playing solo throughout it the middle section started at 1:44 which leads into a chorus after its finished at 2:20 the solo starts which leads into the final verse to finish the song off at 2:42

the song writing processes came about when me and Jack meet and started to play guitar i had a combination of am chord transitioning into an f which i really liked we then turned that into Am-F-G-E7 making it 1 bar to 2 so we could have more chords this gave it more of a purpose. then wrote the lyrics for the verse were written and we came up with the chorus for the song consisting of a c-Am to keep it in the same key as the verse.
